Details:
The Mercia Hill Trial is a navigation event taking place on the Shropshire Hills. It is suitable for fellrunners and orienteers. The 2020 event will be from Priest Weston, on the border with Wales. You will be provided with a map showing the checkpoints/controls and the order in which you must navigate between them. There will be two courses:
Medium course – planner’s route 12.4km, 620m of ascent
Long course – planner's route 21km, 1060m of ascent

The race will form the second leg of the Valleys weekend as normal with combined results and prizes from the Titterstone Clee Race - both races are part of the Shropshire Winter Series.

AS 4.8km/360m time trial format, follow any reasonable route from start at Ragleth Inn gate to finish at Pole Bank trig column. Run on your own, or with others. Try to set a time or regard us as your safety net for some night nav practise. Gazebo at the quarry on the road near Pole Bank with hot drinks prior to jog back down; starts 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Part of the "Trails to the fells" winter series, together with Terry's non-Tinselly Townbrook Terror on Tuesday March 15th.
