Long Mynd Hike - route change?

I think the route should be modified to avoid the long (tedious) road section from Snailbeach to Tankerville. WDUT?

The race is promoted as 50

The race is promoted as 50 miles...but is in fact only 47.5 miles. Add a new checkpoint to the west of Snailbeach will both lengthen the course to a true 50 miles and also remove the tedium (and feet trashing) of slogging up the road to Tankerville.
