The Cardington Cracker is back on for 2021, on-line entries only from here.

The event nearly didnt happen this year as the village hall that we have used for years was unavailable. After initially cancelling the race, Mick Boulton, the owner of Boultons Coaches offered us the use of one of the garages in his yard and a couple of local landowners offered the use of field for parking so we are back on again. Apologies for the delay in making entry details available, but we have had a great deal to sort out. We have always been advocates of entry on the day for all Telford AC fell races, but due to Covid concerns, on line entries will cut down the need to queue and runners crowding indoors. If you know of any runners who would like to enter and don't do on line please tell them to contact me directly and I will arrange something for them.
Race HQ will be at Boultons Coaches where portable toilets will be available. Race numbers must be collected on the day. Please bring your own pins.
The other thing we need to be careful about is parking on roads within the village. There are some residents who get very upset about this. Please only park in the official car parks. If we have problems with parking, we may not be able to hold the race there again in future years. Thank you.
All runners must carry the required FRA kit throughout the race. It is not optional.
The route is marked and marshalled except the section off the first hill The Lawley which is an obvious run down the spine of the hill. There are some short sections of road and 3 road crossings, please be aware of traffic. The course can be wet especially in December shoes with plenty of grip recommended. Although the hills in Shropshire are not the highest, the course is quite gruelling and conditions on the summits can be testing, especially at this time of the year. Please come prepared.
If you retire please make sure you let one of the marshals and the finish officials know, so we do not coming looking for you out on the hill.
Again due to Covid concerns about crowding indoors, we will not be doing official presentations as in previous years. We will present the first 3 individuals at the finish and any obvious masters prizes but the majority will be posted out the following week. We will be posting results on local fell running sites and the Telford AC site or e mailed on request.
Water will be available at the finish but non on the course. If you would like to leave a water container at the finish there will be a table available for personal drinks.
If you know anyone who would be available to help marshal on the day please let me know, we can never have enough, all help appreciated.
We are most grateful for the support of Boultons Coaches, many residents and all landowners and farmers who allow us to run over their land.
If you have any further queries about the race just drop me an e mail or a message.
Kind regards
Paul Sanderson
